AAEA Fall Show opens September 15

The AAEA’s Fall Show will be on display from Saturday, September 15 through Wednesday, October 24 at The Scott County Arts & Cultural Center gallery, Georgetown, Kentucky. All are invited to the Artists’ Reception Friday, September 14 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

According to AAEA president, Sheila Barnes: “The annual Fall Show, which our group has been doing for over 30 years is particularly near and dear to my heart, as it showcases emerging equine artists’ abilities. It also leads to expanding our membership, as once a person has been juried into three exhibits he/she can be considered to become an associate member. We are always looking for new people and their ideas, and this show enables us to do that.”

The American Academy of Equine Art is a nonprofit organization founded in 1980 with the idea of assembling the finest equine artists in the country to exhibit together, share ideas, and establish a teaching organization modeled after the Royal Academy in England. Founding members included Jean Bowman, Marilyn Newmark, Richard Stone Reeves, Sam Savitt, and Else Tuckerman, to name a few. Many of the academy’s full and associate members are among the finest and most recognized horse painters and sculptors working today. The group is currently based in Georgetown, Kentucky.
